As for customer service from Ford, we sometimes forget that we did not buy anything from Ford. Not really. We bought something from an independent business agent, which we call a dealership. The dealership is Ford's customer. I'm not trying to make excuses for Ford, just facing the reality that dealing with end customers is not something they really want to do. They just go through the motions to try to keep some reputation. Not doing that very well either.
Ive recieved real phone calls from "Ford Customer Care Specialists" days after communicating with Ford here in the forums via PM. Done this twice now for my AC issues and initiating buyback

folks running this site have confirmed that the "ford motor company" account is legit, though I am not sure if that means it is supposed to be staffed by Ford employees, Ford contractors, or any other form of support team arrangement. I read a few times people say they talked to this account and got some assistance while others say it just asks for VIN, miles etc to take the talk private and then nothing happens.

I speculate it is a team that was supposed to do "social media" outreach as a part of their "listen to the customer on social media" campaign launched a few years ago to look like they are trying to address customer complaints, that has since seen layoffs and the ticketing system is just languishing for some existing cases when people handling got let go.

And you have gotten tangible results or just lip service?

I have dealt with the Ford forum rep twice, they just set you up with a Ford customer service rep, but both times I did get some action, and even got a free extended warranty out of it.

You have a GMC avatar. Is that the direction you’re heading if you get a buy back?

I already owned an older one. Thats whats gotten me to and from work while my newer Ford sits at the shop being repaired constantly. Just bought another older 1 ton GMC so I can haul heavy loads and continue to work while ford buys back my truck or i sell it outright or it catches on fire and burns to the ground because of one of its many electrical faults.

I dealt with GM on buying a new truck that I ordered and never purchased. While it ultimately was the dealer’s wrong doing, GM was awful to deal with as well. They could have cared less and I didn’t even own their product yet. The reality is all manufacturers have their issue but, I took my chances on another Ford. Fingers crossed I got a good one. 2024 F350 diesel.

I think poor service is part of the new business model of keeping supply low and prices high. Dealers can get retail and sometimes more and there's no inventory on shelves and no money sitting, if we get hammered by a bad recession. Welcome to the post covid economy and way of doing business.

I have given up on ford support for anything

i bought my 2029 with a 7yr/125k mile warranty

when ever I had a warranty eligible issue…appts were always 60 to 90 days out no matter how far out from me I checked.

ford is too busy doing oil changes to do warranty work…the oil changes are probally more profitable.
