Since I purchased this truck in 21 I have had an issue that feels like a transmission slip at low speeds, it now has 53K miles. In the beginning it was very infrequent so there was no reason to take it in since it only happened very infrequently. Now it is getting worse and after taking it to the local dealership they believe it might be the DPFE sensor. I have done some looking online and can't really find anything specific about this sensor. I did discover it has to do with the EGR system and can't figure out what it has to do with the hesitation or slipping. I have looked for a replacement but can't find one. Has anybody had a similar issue with this particular sensor?
I replaced mine last month due to some bucking and rough shifting at low throttle. It now shifts smoother than it ever has in my one year of ownership. For $100 I would say just replace it as cheap insurance since what I have read online has indicated that this part if left unfixed, can take out the motor.
