I have been looking at getting a used 2021 or 2022 Ranger as it looks like it will meet all my needs. Lately I have seen that there are now some class action lawsuits against Ford for issues with the 10 speed transmission, which is in several models to include the Ranger. It is a concern, but thought I would reach out to the community and see if in fact there are some issues that maybe problematic and what your experiences have been as far as resolving the issue or whatever. Thanks in advance for your input. As a note, I was looking at the Ranger to replace my 04 F-250 Powerstroke that I bought new. It is still a beast but "overkill" for my driving life now and Diesel just getting to darn expensive anymore.
I could have said that then but now.
Gears started slipping ford said 2 weeks before they could look at it.
Found another dealer said torque converter was bad.
No torque converters available and at least a month out but probably longer.
Ended up having to trade it for what they had on the lot just to have a vehicle.
So much for that extended warranty really liked that truck. Still looked like brand new.
I'm right at 21,000 miles and had a moment yesterday. Trying to take a left through oncoming traffic, and it felt like it was going into crawl mode. I had to back off and wait until nobody was coming, and then it was fine. Scared the **** out of me. Anyone else have this issue?
I have a 21 with 54K, just started having problems with it feeling like it might be slipping at low speeds and it started to hesitate on take off. Took it to the dealership and they said it could be the DPFE sensor, haven't been able to find much information on that sensor. Dealership said the last one they replaced was around $500 but it is covered under my extended warranty, which is great. Only issue is I can't find any information online about this being a problem, anybody else heard about this issue?
The truck has been having this issue since shortly after I purchased it but it hasn't been constant or anything serious. If the problem isn't always present they can't duplicate no reason to take it in. Hopefully it will not be anything but this sensor and they can have it fixed in a day or less.

The sensor takes less than 15 minutes to replace and is about $100 online. It's located on the driver side near the rear of the valve cover/intake manifold. Just replaced mine last month and now the bucking is gone.
