I wouldn't even care about the issues you mentioned. My 6 month old F250 7.3 just got back from 2 weeks at the shop - needed a rear diff rebuild at just under 10,000 miles. I consider that to be an issue of concern. All I do with the truck is drive it back and forth to work, and we went on one 1000 mile trip with my 6500lb camper. I was hoping for more from a heavy duty truck!!
What's more is that the truck is now quieter than it has been since new - something in the rear was making some noise since I got it, and I didn't notice it or thought it was normal. Only when it started actually whining significantly did I think perhaps something was wrong. Now that its fixed I realize it wasn't right from day one - right from the factory.
If I only had your issues I'd be super happy with my truck's quality.
Didn't Ford create a team to handle QC for SDs? My 22 has been good to me, but I haven't really pushed it or noticed any blatant QC issues. Unlike my 2018 F350, which went in the shop way many more times than my 2014 RAM 3500 CTD(miss that truck). It was a nice truck but dang, when the Service Manager knows you by your voice, smh. Can't really complain tho. Every time I went in, they were Johnny on the spot and fixed everything (unlike Ram service). I would like to expect more for a 100K+ truck, but like others have said, they all come down the same assembly line.
My 2022 and 2023 haven't had a single issue nor have I had a single complaint in the 2 years and 1 year I've owned them respectively. I also own 5 Rams and one other F150, a new Mercedes and a new BMW......I haven't found that my Fords have had many more (or less) issues than the others but maybe my expectations are different. Honestly the items described may be annoying but they are hardly serious - I would have made a list of those things and had the dealer address them at the first service.
I agree with those that point out that it doesn't matter what the trim level, the QC is all the SAME .....as it should be.
Well I'm a happy camper with my truck. I've had basically 30k trouble-free miles of towing and regular driving. It's been a great machine. I use mine for pulling our 5er. I see more Fords at all these campgrounds than any of the other guys. I suspect there's a reason for that!
I have a 2022 F250 XLT that had a hand full of issues; door alignment, tailgate damage from bumper mis-alignment plus the cab top trim breaking loose to name a few. We have 2023 Lexus RX350h that was made in Canada and that car is as close to perfect as anything I have ever owned. Are the Canadian autoworkers better that the ones that build Fords in Kentucky...no!, Do they care more...no! Do they work in a better system...YES! There is no excuse for things being out of alignment, especially in mass production. Everything has a jig, fixture or determinate assembly or should when you make thousands of them year after year. Lexus depends on process control for the quality results, Ford depends on inspection after the fact. 100% inspection is 80% effective at best.
On my ‘23, the dealer had to replace 4 different dash/trim components, the ICP module, two bed cameras, and I am waiting on the CSP VIN list to be released so I can get that done and the engine has the correct idle oil pressure so my cam/lifters don’t fail. I also have egregious body gap misalignments. Ford field service engineering is a total joke now, so you’ll be in for a real treat if the dealer runs the gamut on Ford’s troubleshooting flow chart when you’re under warranty and they have to reach out to the mothership for help. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous and incompetent as well. As near as I can tell, the entire company is dysfunctional. All GM or Ram have to do is suck less than Ford and I’ll consider jumping ship. You have a right to be pissed. We all do.

Has anyone else noticed that when you drop the tail gate it refuses to go back up because the step latch has popped? I have to open the step and slam it closed for the tailgate to close. Yesterday I loosened the latch and adjusted it so maybe the latch holds. Going to town tomorrow so i will see if that works
Current quality is very inconsistent. Seems as though these days the factory just slaps it all together & leaves the responsibility of fixing issues as well as the plethora of recalls to the dealers to deal with. That's why it takes months to get an appointment or anything done.
I refused an extended warranty for this very reason. A simple warranty repair could have my truck sitting in a back lot somewhere for months. No thanks Ford.

Since you have a limited I’m assuming you have the power tailgate and it won’t go up on it’s own since your tailgate step isn’t fully seated. I can’t help since I don’t have that option, but after hundreds of lowering and raising the tailgate on my 23 my step has never popped out.

Hope your adjustment helps with the issue.
Yes the power up for the tailgate wont work with the step popped out. I will post in the next day or so on the outcome.

I just received my license plates. Is anyone else irritated by the front license plate bracket? I believe it is too loose, but only time will tell if it rattles around and scuffs up the bumper underneath. Additionally it takes about 10 seconds to pop the whole thing off.

I popped mine off as soon as I got home from the dealership, day one.
My front plate bracket is sitting on my workbench in my garage as well, no intentions of putting it back on. I too was a bit surprised at how quick and easy it was to remove.

Unfortunately I live in a state that requires the front plate.
