tailgate issue

Does anybody have a fix for the tailgate down message when you remove the power lift tailgate on a Limited/King Ranch truck? Would also like info to delete/disable the BLIS system using Forscan when removing the truck box for a flatbed.

It is my understanding that the jumper kit that should have come with your truck, bypasses the tailgate up/down sensor. Did you install that?

That's what I thought too but apparently the jumper kit isn’t working to eliminate the message. (There have been a few of these threads)

Sounds like OP is wanting to completely remove the truck box anyway, not sure if they'd end up leaving that harness in place unless it's wrapped up in another harness.

I have to leave the entire bed wiring harness on the truck, or it will disable many other things. Passenger door is inoperable, the power steps are inoperable, the radio controls on dash are inoperable etc. This is a new issue just on the upper trim level trucks with this feature. I can turn off the tailgate open light/message on the trucks without the power lift tailgate in the wiring harness by tying the signal wires together.

OP, still not clear if you have installed the TG jumper kit. I will assume you did, since you seem knowledgeable on it.

Also, what year truck? I know there was a TG off issue on the 2023.
