Alternative rear bumper??
I think you spelled it correctly. I remember it as BARDEN as well.
I always called the one on my 79 a Barden, but it was just enough different where I thought perhaps a different company had made it.
Perhaps my local dealer where the truck was bought originally, had them dabbed up locally. We used to have quite a few welding shops around.
most of the local dealerships around here had a FEY rack with all the different styles on it in their parts department. But many of those actually went out of the network and bought different brands, just to save some money. Lots of companies look the same, but charged less.
I think I mentioned this in a thread a few years ago, but it doesn’t hurt to bring it back up. I don’t always think the V-drop style is the best look for our trucks, they do look pretty darn good!
Along the lines of Tbears style, with a slightly more pronounced V-shape to them.
One of my favorites was the Bundy bumper company out of Oklahoma. Tulsa I believe.
This is in the 80s and 90s, but I wonder if they’re still around? Haven’t done a search lately, but if anybody finds Bundy bumper, they make a stout piece.

nutter3, That is the typical old style, the also had a factory rear, Called a camper Bumper which was some heavier and wit a small modafication offer a much better stepp up design. I lost mine in a deep snow, way way back in the day getting pulled out, so that is when I decided for anything but an original restr I would make my own. Including the option with permanent wiring to switch my winch from front to back as needed. All but my 250 '75 High Boy, got the upgrade, that truck stayed cherry until I sold it. Otherwise they were all trapping/hunting trucks that had to go just about anywhere. the '76 F150 4x4 351M, will be getting custon front and rear bumpers with permanent winch wiring and connector for and aft. I am OOOOOld now so being able to drop into any place is even more important now ;- ) .
I believe you're talking about a Barden, there may have been more than one style of them. I have an original rust-free Barden in nice shape on a pickup that's going to the crusher one of these days. if someone wants to come take it off it's free.
