Hello, so I just bought a 2012 F-350 with a 6.2 gas and 6R140 in it. And so far I have liked it but every once in a while it will jump from 2nd to 6th during easy acceleration and then back down, slamming into both. It also shifts hard into and out of third gear but I'm assuming that's valve body. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I couldn't have anyone else mentioning the same issue.
I have had a few 6r140s and there are some chaaracteristics that I have totally ignored, like hanging 2-3 on first take off, and a few cases of skipping 4 and going to 6 altogether, and the first thing I've always done (used trucks) is change the fluid.....all the fluid.....and in many cases, I at least felt better about ignoring the issue, or the issue became rarity after the fluid exchange, or went away entirely. 6r140 is a weird animal IMO
Would I need something more in-depth to read pcm codes than a basic obd2 scanner? no dtcs came up when scanned.
Yes, you would.
Get Forscan. You can download it free at www,forscan.org. Their page shows how to select an adapter to plug into the OBDII connector. I bought mine from Amazon for about $30.

Hello, finally got it scanned and its thrown no codes. Has done the jumping from 2nd to 6th two or three more times since I made the post. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when it decides to do it.
