I have a customer with a 65 ford Econoline when you turn the steering wheel right the wheels go left when you turn the steering wheel left the wheels go right how do you fix this is the pitman arm improperly indexed or is it the wrong steering box
It looks like it was upgraded to a power steering box
Looks to me like the pitman arm swings fore aft in this cab forward setup vs side to side in the F100. What’s a tie rod and what’s a drag link in this setup?
Assuming everything’s original in the truck/van, is it possible to mount the steering box 180* off? Does the output shaft have two exposed ends?
It has the wrong steering gear
Done it
I put the wrong control valve in a 95 Bronco and almost wrecked it
The ones with the gear before the axle run backwards to the ones with the gear aft of the axle
In the case of the Bronco I was working on, parts gave me a thousand dollar control valve from a Crown Vic
The worm gear on the control valve and the power piston where the ***** go around are machined symmetrically opposite
