I need to have the full 7 pin harness, I am getting tired of grossing 25+k lb with ONLY TRUCK brakes, and STILL have drums on the back! Its a taste hard to stop... It is also nice to have lights and charge battery for landing gear. I have upgraded to 4200lb leaf springs because of the weight but anyhow,
I can NOT find this part/wiring harness at all, and I really hate to hack up the existing female plugs in the back of the truck just to make the new style or complete homemade work, but if that is my only option might as well tell me.
ALSO: I do have a brake controller in the truck, and I have no clue about it other than its plugged in. I have read online that 1 or 2 relays need to be installed, there is a separate box behind the main fuse box that does have some relays in it, so I can assume its all there and I just need the harness for the 7 pin female. If anybody knows where to source one out online, that would be great. If not; just tell me to make one myself or if there is any "kit" or a "right" way to do it. I need to have the positive constant power (rv battery or power dolly battery charging) along with the controllable brakes.
Alongside that I should be asking anybody have any ideas on installing the newer trucks style brake controller with upfitters where that pistol/key holder slot is on the OBS trucks? I need to control juice brakes on this gooseneck. Existing brake controller is variable, I figure that is all I need though?
Thanks.
Did the truck have a factory tow package or some of this added after the fact?
I take it you have a 7 blade plug out back that the trailer plugs into now?
Dose the truck have a brake controller in it now?
If so do you get brake power at the plug on the truck side?
One of the blades should be hot (with key on or truck running?) to charge the trailer battery if factory tow.
You said the trailer has juice brakes? I have not pulled anything with that type of brake system.
If so there has to be something between the electric the truck supplies for brakes and the trailer side you may have to install on the trailer.
Maybe Etrailer.com has something on their site about this?
If the truck dose not have a brake or battery charge wire at the plug I dont see it being hard to run 2 - 10 ga wires back to the plug.
My 81 F100 did not have a tow package (wiring) or brake controller.
I added all that as the truck is back up to pull my 20' open deck car trailer but wanted it wired for anything I might pull.
It just worked out I have pulled a 20" enclosed trailer for my car club that has a battery for the electric lift jack.
Just my .02

I do have a 7 pin connector I just have not mounted yet and have no way to get power into it because why mount it if I can find that wiring harness that the factory "Would" have had. I do not know if it had it from the jump or not, but previous to the flatbed being put on it years ago it did have a 7 pin, but that harness is long gone sadly.
The brake controller does work I can assume since when I hit it my tail lamps come on. I do have a bigger wire that does have key on constant power for maintaining a battery.
I have been pulling the trailer without any electric hookup at all, I just hook up and go. I don't worry about having lights or what my weight is its the truck has a k tag on it, all the DOT man can do is tell me not to do this stuff, but they cannot give tickets or anything. But it would definitely be nice to have brakes and lights.
I might just go ahead and make my own using a 7 pin end I have and just deal with it that way :/ oh well.
On my 81 F100 I have a Tee pig tail that fits between the trucks harness down the frame rail and the tail light harness,
You unplug the 2, put this Tee pig tale between them and plug everything back together.

This gives you the trucks light wires you then wire into the 7 blade plug.
Then with the electric brake wire and the charge wire and a ground wire and you have everything for the trailer at the rear of the truck.
You will need to check the controller to make sure the output goes to the rear and was not cut / removed.
The brake light is tied in at the brake light switch so you my not have a wire to the back.

There is other information on that site

I also picked up a 7 blade to flat 4 converter for when I need to pull a flat 4 trailer light hook up like U-Haul trailers.
