I'm replacing starter, because the starter just spins without starting motor. I have all 3 bolts out and the starter comes out about 1/2 inch and that's it. Tried wiggling it out with no luck any ideas? 63 Ford F100 292 with fordamatic tranny

I try not to thread-jack (much) - but, since this came up, and I was pondering it this very morning , I’ll do it : I’m wanting to keep a spare stock-type starter on hand, not a mini. Would I be better off finding an original and attempt to find a quality rebuilder, or take a chance on one from a local parts store? We now return you to your regularly scheduled program. P.M. me if you want to not walk on this guys thread.
