wrong fluid

Angry wrong fluid

the other day i put gear oil in an atomatic trans by accident will this ****it up, is their any way to undo this mistake.

Drain it, fill it with ATF, then have it flushed by a transmission shop. If you didn't start the cehicle, then you'll be fine by just draining it and replacing the filter and fluid and cleaning the pan out.

I started the car but I did not put it in gear.

Do the flush

How much gear oil did you put in? Most automatics use around 2 gallons of fluid, depending on application, so I would think that a quart of gear oil will have little effect. I agree with Wildjon, drain not just the pan but the torque converter also, should be a plug on the side closest to the engine, and refill with new fluid. It could have been much worse, water will kill an automatic transmission. Good luck

if you started it thers a good chance that it got in the tc DO THE FLUSH CHECK THE BOTTLE NEXT TIME ???? HAPPENES
