The one that came with my truck for the air bags and tank takes a good 20 minutes to fill the tank and is LOUD. The PO mounted it and the tank inside a floor mounted tool box, and ran the power and tubing through it and through the bed. I plan to remove the box so I can use the full bed size and mount the tank underneath, but want a stronger, faster compressor.
Tell me what ya got and where to get it. Eventually I would want to put air horns on it too.
That's a pretty sizeable tank for a 12v compressor. Of course, even my 120vac pancake compressor takes a while to fill the first time. Unless you find a high-volume compressor it's gonna take a while for it to fill since it's such a small piston.
As for quieter, I'm not sure if there are any out there that are quieter, compressors tend to be pretty loud. Being inside a box is going to make it that much louder. Maybe some of the other guys can chime in on that though.
I use this. Works great for the air bags and other needs on the road.. Paid $48. Thought about the tank route but decided not to.
Yeah I have the Ryobi version of that, works great for tires, if I had bags would work great for that, I've used it for a few other things too (basketballs/footballs/air mattresses and the like).
Only reason I'd get a tank system is if I were going to be using air tools frequently from the truck.
I have an ARB twin. It's a lot of money, but it works awesome airing up tires and will run all day long. I had a Viair on my last truck, but it took forever and was noisy. If you ever plan on airing up tires with it get one that is continuous or 100% duty cycle.

Viair is what is on it now. That ARB twin is a bit out of my current price range for now, so will stick with what I got until the economy gets back to normal.
You could just add a second Viair like the one you already have, cheaper than the ARB and twice the current capacity.
True, got enough switches to wire them separately too. Considering moving them into a battery box to mount underneath the cab as well as an in the cab control panel for the bags. That will free up the bed so I can get building materiel and not have to hang it over the tailgate. Drywall doesn't like doing that and surviving the rough roads around here
