Hi All !! I have a 99 F250 S.D. V10 4X4 and I have a front suspension issue I just cannot seem to figure out. I live in the mountains in So. California and that is when this issue happens. When driving the truck on flat surfaces or climbing up into the mountain where I live, about a 5000 ft. climb over a 14 mile run, it drives fine it brakes well. This is the general of how it drives every where but in one scenario and that is when I am going down the mountain when I apply the brakes the front end starts shaking pretty heavily. Over a couple months time I replaced almost ever single part in that front end I started with brake pads and rotors then moved on to new hubs with all of the axle seals and then I did the upper and lower ball joints. Then I did the steering link with the damper shock. I also had the tires replaced and high speed balanced and after all this I still have the issue and as I said it is funny because it only happens when going down the hill. I am now at a loss and I am hoping that maybe someone may have a suggestion as to what it may be that is causing this problem. So if you have any info you could share I would greatly appreciate it as I am at a loss and if I don't get any viable suggestions I am going to take it over to a frame shop and have them take a look at it. So as I said any info would be greatly appreciated and thanks for havin a look !!
The only thing that can do that would be the rotors...Try frozen cryo rotors and heavy duty pads...or bigger rotors etc. gear down and stay off the brakes if you can..
Did you replace the flex brake lines, frame to caliper? The calipers? The rotors if new should of fixed this on day 1, unless it was raining and by some act of god warped instantly under heavy braking and water splashing on them. ABS going screwy could pulse the brakes and do this.
