The 3 lower bolts on the NP205 rear access plate have a super slow leak. I tried backing out the bolts, adding thread seal and tightening back it slowed the leak way down but still has a super slow leak. Any other ideas or suggestions on how to get it to stop?
As in RTV sealant? Should I put some on the threads? I haven't hammered down on the bolts yet. I could try torquing them some more also? Not sure the best approach
If you pull them out to seal threads after cleaning threads, might pay you to first drip drain the case.
If were mine, I'd just clean the outside off every time I service the transfer case lube. The 205 is a cast iron case, but that cover is aluminum and it has a bearing in the center.
