I’m about to redo my exhaust with long tune headers and an x pipe into duals out the back. Can anyone post a picture of how they routed theirs? I have a 94 f150 4x4
That’s what I was worried about, I was just assuming you could find a way around it. Is just true duals better then? I’ve seen people run h pipes too, so would that work?

I couldn't tell you what exhaust systems are "better" with a 4x4 you have to run the pipes along the stock side.
I would not advise running the exhaust against the gas tank.
You can't do "TRUE" duals on one of these 4x4 trucks... that being exactly the same length pipe on both banks, that doesn't matter on a street vehicle anyway so don't beat yourself up trying to make it happen.
Pipe diameter cross-sectional area--
2.25 = 3.97sq in
2.5" = 4.90sq in
3" = 7.07sq in
1st gen Lightnings had a dual exhaust - separate runs for each cylinder bank. It consisted of shorty headers, light-off catalysts with headpipes to dual main catalysts, 2-1/4" dual intermediate pipes, dual mufflers, dual tailpipes - all run down the passenger side (gas tanks in the way on Driver's side). I will tell you that it is an absolute PITA to work on for engine/trans install or maintenance. My buddy that has one (almost 250k miles on it) for towing duty weldedt in a bunch of additional flanges so it can be unbolted in sections.
I know that is not what you want, but still... Not sure what would be in the way with the 4x4 driveshaft/transfer case since my trucks are RWD... You < might > be able to route the intermediate pipes and mufflers outside of the framerails and exit in front of the rear wheels. I dunno...
That said, I am redoing the stock exhaust on my '95 F250 7.5L RWD with the new rebuilt engine install. Stainless MID-length headers, stainless Y-pipe consisting of 2-1/2 pipes off each header merging to the 3" single pipe, 3" in-out single catalyst, 3" single pipe back to 3" in/out stainless straight-through Magnaflow muffler, 3" single stainless tailpipe. As you can see from the pipe area at the beginning of this post, this system has almost the same flow as a 2-1/4 dual system - and probably even flows better due to the smaller pipe bend restrictions, and is a much simpler install!
