Hello, I recently picked up a 2024 f350 Xlt with 360 camera, blis, and the power open tailgate, and I had a utility body installed on it, but I have the tailgate ajar indicator on the dash Does anyone have any luck disabling that in Forescan?the upfitter claims the ford software they have couldn't do it. I haven't picked up the truck from the upfitter, so I haven't hooked up to the truck yet with Forscan to see what options there are. Just wondering if anyone has found a solution yet.

I don't know, but would think there is some sort of tailgate delete cap or something that makes it think the tailgate is closed. They used to include a delete/cap kit in the glove box of these trucks

There is a tailgate delete harness, but it seems to be very hit-or-miss if it works. There were a lot of people having issues with them; it seems, so I was hoping there was a more reliable forscan option.

 

It's in the glove box. Dummy plugs.

 

Unfortunately you’ll have to bring it into the dealer. The 24’s tailgate delete kits are having an issue and either need a software update or rewire on the harness

I just took mine off my 23’ no issue.

 

I got the truck back and deactivated the blis and cross traffic in Forscan with no problem. I poked around a bit, looking for anything to do with the tailgate, and didn't find any options in Forscan. They have the dummy plugs installed but I still get the tailgate open message when I start the truck. I guess I might have to bring it in at some point to have it addressed at the dealer.

 

can you tell me your exact year and model and trim? Did your truck have the fancy tailgate with power tailgate, camera for when tailgate was down etc?

 

The delete harness does away with all tailgate functions. I have the same issue with the beds I build and install. We reuse the harness for backup sensors, camera etc. There isn 't a way that Ive found to disable this message either.
