‘63/‘64 fender emblem inserts

Just putting this out there… is anyone making the plastic inserts for the shield-style (as opposed to the oval-style) fender/hood emblems? I’ll be looking to get a custom set made somewhere. Wasn’t sure if anyone here on the site was doing them or if anyone had a lead/source. Thanks.

There was a thread here on replacement badges and inserts a while back. It should be searchable. Somebody was making them but stopped. I think it was said that cd/DVD covers can be cut to size. Anyone with a "circuit" machine should be able to cut the lettering. Cut them in silver, paint the bad side and then put a second clear piece on top to cover the letters. Search for the discussion here and some better description of them should turn up. I was going to make some for mine but life priorities got in the way.

Thanks for responding. Yes I thought I’d read that someone was making them but had stopped, so that’s why I was wondering if anyone else was now, or if anyone had a source for them. But I didn’t locate another thread about them in a light search. I did find a couple other unrelated threads that I can use tho in the process!

I wish I knew someone into calligraphy or pinstriping. They could maybe do the lettering with paint.

Yeah… same with the Four Wheel Drive ones I got several years back. But I’m looking to have some made because I need some Four Wheel Drive inserts in the shape of the ‘63/‘64 shield-style emblems, which they never made.

I’m not what 1966F11 has in mind but I was thinking something like this. I don’t want to interfere with Norm if he has something completely different in mind. Just thought it might be better to get a bundle to make them more cost effective. Maybe Norm has something way cooler looking. Doug. Maybe not enough room for that.

Hey guys… yeah that’s what I’m talking about. I was going to post pictures but you guys beat me to it. I’d be wanting some of those red shield-shaped inserts as pictured above in the Mercury emblem. Only I’d want “Four Wheel Drive” printed in them; printed just like the second pic of those oval plastic inserts. Sounds like we might have two buyers so far if we can find a source!

I was thinking the camper special lettering but on a badge shaped piece of plastic (like cd case material) then I would paint the back side red. I'd cut another piece to put over it so the lettering is sandwiched in.
Here is the lettering but the shape of the piece would have to fit the badge

I've been saying badge when I meant shield. My mistake.
