I've spent a lot of money upgrading my 7.3. New 180/30 single shot injectors, new upgraded gtp 38 turbo, new hydra chip, high output hpop...mostly because I wanted to tow my 11k 5th wheel with less worry about egt's getting away from me and leaviing a smoke trail behind...but, also kinda' thinking I'd feel it in the seat of my pants when i got on it...that's always been something I appreciated about my old 7.3...it felt good in the seat of my pants when I pressed the skinny pedel. But, to be honest, it doesn't feel like I've got any greater performance at all. Of course this is all subjective, but, still....$3500 seems like it should make a noticeable difference, don''t you think?
Did you do up pipes and check for boost leaks? Air intake or exhaust? Hutch mod ? Any codes at all? I'd think with a new set up like yours would have a noticable difference in seat of the pants unless you have underlying unaddressed problems.
Tuning can honestly make all the difference. When I first got my injectors in the custom tunes that came with everything were... Slow is the nicest way I can think to put it. After some back and forth with that tuner I ended up going to someone else and honestly night and day difference.
Start with the basics. Check for boost leaks, fuel pressure, icp, egts…….etc. If all the basics are good then look towards injector issues, or maybe wrong tunes?
