Door/Window Problem 93 Ford F150

Ok this happened yesterday. I was driving and it sounded like I hit something but I did not. Something in my drivers side door fell off. I tried to lower the window with the push button and it only went down a few inches then would not go back up. So I just pushed the window down and it went down easy. Then I push the up button and the window goes up no problem. I know I am going to have to take the door panel off and find the problem and fix it. Just curious, what do you guys think I am looking for. Oh and something is inside the door and clunking whenever I open or close the door. What part fell off and will I have to replace it? THanks

Remove a couple screws, the door panel and stop guessing.

Sounds like the glass became separated from the metal channel (part #2 above) that the regulator slides through.
I just silicone-d the glass back in place and has lasted 20 plus years

I would love to. I am on a power plant job in Buffalo, Tx for the last 9 weeks and have 2 weeks to go. No access to my tools to take it apart and was just wondering if anyone has had this happen before. I will be home in a few weeks but then off to Indonesia for a month. I was hoping for that week off someone could give me some ideas but alas I think I have to figure it out.

If you were to post a picture of the door panel and related parts
I would point to the retainer for the panel with the screw that comes down vertically from the pull
They used to some out and fall down inside the door
Agreed, you are liable to find the problem in seconds when you remove the panel
Good luck with it when you get off work
Keep that grid up
Thanks
