just a cat

I am going to redo the exhaust system on my truck, 94 f150, 4.9L. gonna get a catco superflow cat (JCWhitney cat URL) 2" dual inlet to a 2.5" single outlet (with air tube coming out of cat) with 2.5" straight pipe coming out just before the rear tire. Want to know if any of you have this setup and how it does or would sound. If i don't like the sound or performance, i'll adda muffler. Thanks

i had the same basic set up. mine was stock front cat w/ 2.5" pipe and no muffer after about 3' of pipe (temp set up, cut off muffler to take care of rusted pipe problem). i thought it sounded awsome, really screamed under load and was pretty decent @ cruising. it will be loud tho, so remember incase the po-po is a PR about loud pipes. i also heard adding an echo tip makes these sound better.

oh and BTW i did loose a little low end, i didnt believe it at first but when i got my muffler back on i noticed i actually lost a little low end. didnt notice any performance gain just the mild low end loss, probaly because lack of exhaust (remember i went 3' off the first cat, dumped under the bed right after the cab). and i didnt get any interior resonance.
