Upgrading your 3.0 PS VS Other brands
Upgrading your 3.0 PS VS Other brands
Good day to everyone,
I am an owner of a Diesel shop and I wanted to talk about this engine in the F-150.
I was sad to see Ford going away from the 3.0 Powerstroke over such short period, however with the push of EV Vehicles by federal governments leaves manufactures no choice but to move away from internal combustion engines. The ford half ton truck out performed the ram eco diesel and the 3.0 Duramax. Both the Duramax 3.0 and the Powerstorke 3.0 boast way more reliability and out last the plagued ECO diesel. I don't want to bring down the Ram Eco Diesel however its long list of federal law suits and recalls that make the truck a no go for me.
Not to mention the Ford F150 out tows both competitors.
From a shop operator who specializes in domestic diesel and diesel performance we find the 3.0 Ford Powerstroke still has the easiest interface for PCM programming and access, both the Ram and Chevy are impossible to delete warning lights on with out the dealer.
For the most part EZLYNK has done great job allowing us to access via their firmware and tool to bring these trucks to life, it is simple upload via the OBD2 port, tuning can increase efficiency, power and have less of an impact of carbon foot print by using less fuel. How do these engines hold up you may ask, we have seen the odd stock truck with a cracked crankshaft but in very low numbers, updated crankshafts were released by Ford and they have managed to fill the back order. We have customers whom we built hot tunes for and after 200K it performed as the day we upgraded their trucks. The down side to the 2021 Version is we only offer a Bench Flash for 30HP.
Furthermore F150 VS Ram 1500, F150 uses leaf springs Vs cheap coil springs found in SUVS. It is my opinion the F150 is a more capable truck and I think is fun truck to own.
