Are the 1997-2009 f150 starters compatible with if i wanted to use it instead of the 1984-1990 starter in my 1989 f150 efi? because it looks more robust.
I doubt a start for a Modular motor would work. They look completely different. How more “robust” do you need? I have been using the same starter for the last 12 years.
Around '94 the V8s came with a gear reduction starter. Easier to install and more *** to spin the engine over. The 92 4.9 of mine had the gear reduction stock.
