I guess for the newer starter I’d run the heavy positive straight to the battery instead of the existing starter relay and then use the exciter wire to go to the newer starter solenoid positive. That one should be pretty straight forward. Good to know they both bolt up in either scenario. 👍🏼

That is the way I would wire it. Some people use the original Ford solenoid on the fender, and then just use a small jumper from the large wire on the starter to the small wire on the starter mounted solenoid. You can run into problems doing it this way, the starter gear can tend to hang in the flywheel a little too long. The starter motor coasting to a stop can act like a generator and keep the starter solenoid activated for a split second after power is removed.
