1986 F250 4x4 motor swap
- super low oil pressure & the 4 barrel Holly carb has been an issue since I bought the truck new. ( auto choke issues)
thinking of swapping out motor, pretty much use the truck for “farm use” so not concerned with emissions / passing any inspection.
Looking for solid motor , slightly more power would be a plus
ideas ?

I wouldn't consider swapping the engine unless your 351 has a bad rod knock. The OE gauges are notoriously inaccurate.
A 300 straight six will bolt to your transmission but will need ot change the frame mounts, radiator and make wiring longer / shorter as things are in different areas. Oh carb cable may also need to be changed for the 300.
Now more power you either need to build up on the 351W that is a bolt in
or
Go with a 460 and then things really need to get changed.
Depending on your trans if auto would need to be swapped for a big block one as the bell housing patterns are different.
The oil filter will hit your cross member so would need to be moved.
Not sure on the radiator if you could use yours but it may be too small?
I would go with another 351W and being it should be in better shape should have more power too.
