Took the 99 Explorer Sport in for inspection, only fail was the ball joints. Since they weren't expensive I did all four (and front shocks), and that's when I found out the factory upper mounts are fixed with no adjustment. Any suggestions on which brand of adjustment bolts people prefer, or which brand they feel is sub-standard?
Second question, 99 lower front door hinges seem to be unique for that year only because the bronze bushing has a smaller pilot hole in the hinge plate that the bushings fit in to, the pin is the same diameter & length. I assume the standard method is bore the plate out to accept the larger outside diameter bushings since neither the OE bushings or hinge sets are available any more?
