Finally found the time to tackle high idle mod on my truck. Only problem is the pass though wires are impossible to access. Some Ford engineer/assembler or some mechanic taped the wires seal tight with another harness which runs all the way down. I can see couple of inches of the 4 pass through wires but no way in hell I can free them. Been working around over one hour trying to free the fuse box too before admitting defeat.
So my question would be what’s best way to run a wire from the passenger side to the engine bay?
This is on a 2020? I've seen a video accessing the pass through wires on a 2020 and the guy removed the BCM for more access.
I've also read of there being a large grommet around a wire harness in the passenger firewall area (drivers side has one too), a hole can be punched in it and wires fed through. Not sure what needs to be removed on the engine side to access it.
Here's a thread that shows the grommets. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1691149-how-to-run-wires-into-the-cab-of-a-2021-f250.html
In the end I used the grommet in the driver footwell to go through the firewall. Ran the wire across from driver to passenger side kick panel and that was it.
Used @zeroo suggestion to use a big zip tie to send the wire through, and in my case I used one of my wife's super grease cream to let the wire slide through.
