I have a 1992 F-150 with the 300 I-6
The truck started having hesitation shifting at speed, would rev, then drop, rev then drop, over and over, and then finally shift but the rpms would be pitifully slow. Seems worse under load or on hills.
Computer showed a bad TPS, so I changed it with a brand new motorcraft TPS, same issue is still occuring. Same code still showing.
Also tested fuel pressure, seems fine to me.
Truck is currently not safely driveable, worried it's going to tear itself up. I am baffled at this problem, have not been able to figure out the cause yet.
Wondering if anyone out there with similar experience?
There is no code that says the TPS needs to be replaced. Many (most?) of the TPS codes are due to a damaged wire between the TPS and the computer. Diagnose what's wrong with the wiring.

I will try to probe the wiring at the computer for the correct voltage. Thank you for the lead.
