Quick question - has anyone deleted the e-brakes on their Sterling 10.5? I’m swapping these axles into a 75 highboy and going with a NP205 e-brake instead. Just curious if there is any reason to leave them hanging on the axle?
Actually it’s not an E Brake, It’s a parking brake.
Betcha most of the older SD trucks have inoperative parking brakes simply because the brake backing plates commonly rust out… just like the ones on my 05 F250 2wd.

e-brake / parking brake = same thing. Any insight to my question? Can I remove the associated component on the ends?
I cant see any reason to leave them hanging around, however its been a while since I dig around on the rear diff. Im jealous, my first 4x4 truck was a 75 F250, Np435 trans, 205 case, 360. Should never sold her.

I probably should be more specific. It’s the drum assembly behind the calipers I’m specifically wanting to delete. I’ve eliminated all lines associated with the e-brake / parking brake / potato (whatever you want to call it)
