millertime300: I've been lookin for headers for my 300 in an carbed 86 F-150 4x4 w/ a 4 spd. Those hedmans are only for 2wd, do see any reason why they wouldn't work on my 4x4? There is really nothing to get in the way. I also wanted to know if the offy was worth it and did you need the $99 adapter kit? I suppose you're using a edelbrock 500cfm, if so how does it handle it, b/c I really don't want that over priced Holley they want you to use.
Ford engine parts interchange book refers "small block" engines as the 221,260,289,302,351w,351c,351m,400m. "Big block"All F.E. engines 332,352,360,390,406,410,427,428. And the 385 series 429/460.
Jakes69 I was refering to the fact that the M series motors use the big block bolt pattern. I wonder why Ford made so many motors anyway.

I got my hedman header from summit I think, it might have been jegs. I didn't have to buy an adapter. I did make a very very very simple throttle cable mount that I am sure you could make. My header does look like it would work on a 4X4. Look around the forums. Somone in here has a bronco with a 309 (300 with .30 or so over) He has a header, but it might be a clifford.

Yes my carb is a 500 cfm edelbrock. If I remember I had to get on size larger jet for the primaries. They are supper easy to work with. You work regret it. If edelbrock/carter made a smaller carb I would have bought it. But I will never again buy a Holley now that I have had an edelbrock/carter.
