One thing I've found is if you need to replace some trim pieces, it's not too expensive in the grand scheme of things.. I threw the piece I cut away with this in mind. Likely, if I were to sell the truck, the gauges would go with the truck. I put in a high idle ****, and I drilled into the headlight controller to do it. Thinking I could mess it up, I ordered another one on eBay for $35. That's brand new. I should have just ordered it if I had problems, because nothing went wrong, and it all looks great. But again, I wouldn't let a little piece of trim come between you and enjoying your truck. (even if it is painful cutting or drilling it... and it is.)
