Console Safe
Subscribing I would like to know that answer also since I have the Console safe on my 2 Ford Trucks.
As with many other security devices, a safe can be compromised by a determined bad guy. The idea is to thwart a quick "smash and grab" so hopefully they will move on. That being said, it appears as though the locks on some console safes are easier to breach than others.
I haven’t had my truck broken into, but a buddy of mine did a couple of years ago. It was one of those eye-opening moments, and he’d always thought his console safe was enough. Unfortunately, they got into it pretty easily. After that, he upgraded to a more secure option and also invested in a Home Safes for his house, just in case. It made a big difference for him, especially since the insurance didn’t cover everything.
For anyone with a console safe, I’d suggest considering extra layers of protection—maybe something more robust or adding a hidden compartment. It’s a tough call, but those added precautions might save a lot of headaches down the line.

This could be easily, and cheaply, prevented by welding, or bolting L bracket(s) to prevent getting in there with a pair of channel locks and not allowing them to rotate.
