You lost me. You have a ‘92 F-150 4x4 with an E4OD and manual transfer case. You want to know if the ‘92 E4OD transmission you want to put in it will work?

I think he's saying the original trans has manual t-case, but the new one is electronic shift, or vice versa?

Or wait, which one has the button on the dash? The truck? Is the engine/tranny with the manual shifter in the truck already? now I'm lost

The transfer case is irrelevant since the one that is currently in the truck will be reinstalled.

Ok. If the t-case is irrelevant, we've confirmed his question. "Will an E4OD originally mated to an manual shift t-case also mate to a t-case with electronic shift?"

Of course we're assuming his t-case is not broken along with the tranny it's mated to.

That was my confusion. The OP asked if he could replace a ‘92 E4OD with a ‘92 E4OD.
