Charging system needs attention!

Did a remote start yesterday and thought I saw a cat scamper away...got the above message when I went to move the truck. Also, no power steering. WTF?
So I opened the hood and saw this, lol

Is the drive belt chewed through or just thrown after the squirrel took its ride?

I think there were 2 squirrels messing with the truck and one got caught in the belt system. The belt was tangled up but looked fine, probably get a spare in case not.
Took a bit of effort to get the dead squirrel out of there and get the belt back on.
No handy diagram like they used to provide but it is hidden in the OM about page 420 or so...

Look on the bright side, you don’t have to worry about him doing that again.

We have an over abundance of squirrels here in NW Florida. They will chew on anything and everything. Half of the metal fence post caps have been gnawed off around my yard. I would look over everything under the hood, on both sides and top to bottom. They could have started working on a wire bundle in one area and gotten distracted.

Did not see any damage from the squirrels, but am now parking it head out of the carport so I can see the front of the truck. Also honking my horn before remote starting it.
A small squirrel sticker would be fun...right next to a larger godzilla one, lol
