Brake help
2000 e 350 commercial chassis cab dual rear wheels
Issue
Vehicle had a leaky right rear caliper. Replaced both rotors calipers and brake pads on the rear. Went to finish the job and now I’ve got front brakes only. Brake fluid has no pressure in the rear lines. Only drips from the line. Have bled countless times only to reach the same outcome. Have bled master cylinder as well.
Truck had better brakes with a leaking caliper than what it has now. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Some problem vehicles will let one bubble of air out at a time, even after numerous test drives
Either way, you still have air in the system IMO
Keep bleeding, gravity bleed all 4 wheels to verify what is happening on the RR
Drive the truck, jump down there and loosen the RR bleed screw, watch one or two bubbles come out
Repeat
Good luck, have fun
One is power bleed with a homemade cap to do it using shop air. (the air over hydraulic method)
Aerostar 4x4 master cylinder recall made us all learn this one
We had to bleed 4 lines and a MC in .7 of an hour IIRR
It was a Master Cylinder recall only but if you pumped air into the lines you would be there all day bleeding 4 wheels and the MC over and over
The trick is drill a 1/16 hole in an extra master cylinder cap and through the rubber gasket too
Then you hold your shop air just above the hole and give it about 20 lbs out your nozzle just above the hole in the cap
That pressurizes the brake fluid inside the cap and forces it to bleed the MC and the wheels if the lines are cracked
That is a life saver and it should be more widely known
I know master techs that do not know that one (it is not in any book)
