Sit around saying strange things, and reading from a very odd book. Occasionally they relate things about faith, and what they think about the ball game.
Very rarely, they tell jokes.
Quite often they forget to smile.
And.....
The meetings are all very boring. They go on for ever, and if you are like me, and easily distracted, you have no clue what they are talking about.
They have good meals sometimes, and they like to help each other, in business.
Highest level is the 33rd Degree. It's an honorary degree bestowed by the Scottish Rite Consistory for meritorious service to your fellow man.
BTW, I have one of those nifty flower-pots. Unfortunately, I haven't had much opportunity to wear it lately... But, no little car. But maybe this Mardi Gras I'll ride around with one of the Dune Buggies.
The Masons can be traced back to the Egyptian times. The masons can be traced back before the existance of the Bible. The majority of the founding fathers of this country were masons. It used to be said that a person had no chance of being elected president of the U.S. unless he was a mason. I guess Kennedy changed that perception. The Catholic Knights of Columbus were formed almost as a alter ego society to the masons.

Nope, wrong faith.. I do however know what goes on, having been born into a family of masons... I used to listen carefully to what they were on about, which is probably why I became a Templar.. (the Templars are easier to understand.)
I know a lot of masons, who are quite nice, and get on with me well, and though having been invited into the Brotherhood on a few occasions, I have declined happily..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Masons used to be a Protestant-only, anti-Catholic society. (I don't believe that's true anymore, but I'm treading on unknown territory here.) I think that's what lead to the formation of the Knights of Columbus. Anyways, when I once expressed surprise that a former manager used to be a priest, another employee exclaimed, "Are you kidding? His family is so Catholic that his mother wouldn't allow mason jars in the pantry!" I still laugh whenever I think about it!
