Do you mean the starter solenoid? If you do, the positive battery cable runs to one large post and the wire to the starter connects to the other largs one. The small one is from the ignition switch and when power is applied from the ignition switch it closes the starter circuit.
The post on the side closest to the battery gets the cable from the positive battery post, the one facing the back of the truck is connected to the cable that goes to the starter. The negative cable does not go to the starter solenoid, the starter is grounded to the block internaly.
