need help with a 429

i have a 69 429 with a 4u crank, but i have d3ve heads!
first of all i have a low budget ( grumpy wife and 2 kids)
i want to get some info, 1; can the smog bump be ground out with ease (not getting into any water jackets?)(and is it worth it) 2; is the 1969 timing chain 4 deg. advanced? (over the 73) & 3; what is the highest compression pistion i can run on pump fuel

Oops, wrong forum.

The bump can be ground out, it's a pain but worth 20hp.

The '69 sprocket is straight up, the '73 is retarded 4 deg.

I wouldn't go over 9.5:1
