Probably not the best group to ask, but I'm chasing an annoying problem on a 2004 Ford E350 6.0 diesel. It's a bus my buddy got not running. During diag found there was no oil pressure on the low side. Pulled the pump and found this gouging and replaced the pump. The inner side of the pump (the timing cover) has the same gouging but didn't think it'd be a big deal. Replaced the regulator, still no pressure. So I dropped the pan and replaced both pickup tube seals and if I crank for like 20 seconds, I get a little bit of flow to the filter housing (my housing is underneath not up top like the F series.) but I have the oil pressure switch up top in front of the turbo removed and have 0 oil making it up there. Anyone else got any ideas?
I'm sure some better answers will come along, but here's something you can check out in the mean time. I believe he was not building low side pressure.
So a lifter failed. What have you done to address that? I mean a single roller bearing is bad news even if is only a "single".
Are you assuming that there are no metal particles inside the engine, and no cam damage? ............or has this engine been torn apart and re-built?
