Help. 97 7.3 no start.
I’m going to explain every detail up to this point.
one day in about 65° weather I was letting it warm up before leaving the house, it started shaking and idling rough worse and worse til it shut off. Now that I think about it, like it ran out of fuel (hm).
oil pressure gauge goes up, RPMS show. Fuel gauge doesn’t really work too well. Only has front tank.
New CPS, ICP, tried starting after unplugging tuner, charged both batteries up, changed oil. All fuses good. Only DTC is for EBPV which is deleted.
eventually found the fuel bowl only had about a 1” of fuel in it. Cranking truck over, it will not fill fuel bowl up. Filled up manually and it will blow white smoke and hit a little more than usual, but not start.
tank has about 1/2 to 2/3 of fuel.
Based off of my diagnosing, I believe the next step would be to blow out fuel lines, clean IPR screen or possibly drop tank. What do you guys think? I’m losing interest fast and need someone with similar situation.
Smoke is good out the exhaust, means most everything up to that point is working. I know you said its 65*, but its possible the glow plugs are bad. It's possible the oil and engine were colder from sitting. Have youbtroed plugging the trucks block heater in a for awhile and then try cranking?
