1996 Limited Next Question (#5?)
I have the driver's side lean and rear squat. Had it aligned and he cranked the driver's side torsion bar as far as it will go and it is still 3/4" lower on the driver's side. From what I can find, this is caused by the driver and gas tank weight on the driver's side wearing out the driver's side leaf spring and of course time. Consensus is to get a bigger girlfriend, swap the leafs side to side, or replace them. If I swap them I may level out more but I will still have the rear sag. Looked up pricing to replace them. If I want a 1.5" lift they are reasonable and free shipping. That would raise me almost 3 inches from where I am right now. If I want to keep the OEM height, I will need to sell the car to afford the new leafs, especially with the shipping. Got to thinking. What if I swap sides and install an add-a-leaf kit. I plan on it being my daily driver as well as hauling band equipment to gigs. Cost of the add-a-leafs and new u-bolts would keep me under $125.
So does the driver's side torsion bar on these wear out also?
Has anyone done this to fix their sag and left lean?
After this my question will be about removing and replacing the door and rear hatch locks so stay tuned......
