First time posting long time lurker here. Please forgive me if this problem has already been posted here.
Recently, I replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 1988 E250 with the 351W. While I was in there I also replaced the upper intake plenum gasket as well as the gaskets for the throttle body and the EGR valve. Now, I have this issue of the engine losing power whenever I need to put my foot into it. Whenever I try to put the pedal to the floor, the engine will either die completely or it will labor and lurch. I thought it might be the EGR valve so I replaced that and the pipe and still am having the same issue. I also broke a few of those crappy plastic vacuum lines that I spliced with normal rubber vacuum lines. When the van dies it will have trouble starting but after an hour or so it'll start right up and I'll be able to limp her home. I'm at a loss to what this issue might be. Any and all advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
It ran well before the valve cover gasket job? Did you touch the distributor? Plug wires are routed correctly?
Double check vacuum hose routing and that every hose is attached as it should be. Maybe the plenum gasket folded during installation and you have a big vacuum leak.

Yes, everything ran great before the valve cover gasket job. All plug wires are routed correctly. I'll have to check and see about the vacuum lines and what not. I'm going to retrace my steps.
Timing has to be 10 degrees before top dead center, these fuel injected computer controlled engines are unforgiving, insure you have the timing correct, then check the EGR setup, the plastic vacuum tubing breaks pretty easily due to its age.
