air Brake Swap
How much of a project is it to swap a juice brake system to an air brake system? I'm looking at a 70s model f700 with a 361 and air brakes, Im really only buying the truck for the engine but It's still a runner and has a propane setup on it with air brakes. the truck that will receive the air system is a 68 N700. I'm wanting to swap axles anyway just to use a more modern 10 lug Budd wheel mainly for aesthetics plus availability, I know the 20s are available but most places have to order them in.
Thanks
I’m not sure if they are the same for both cabs
Take plenty of photos of the air tanks plumbing and any other valve plumbing
If the F-700 has single chamber brakes on the rear you’ll want to add the necessary valve and dual brake chambers to get sufficient parking brakes
On single chamber system when the air bleeds off you have zero brakes
I wonder if the foot valve is still available for an n series truck.
