If yes, any way to tell the body color?
Were the VIN plates painted body color?
The plate has a couple different green colors on it, only a small trace of one of the greens on the edge.
Were the plates held on with screws or rivets?
It is my understanding that with your pain codes, the truck body would be Colonial White. Red would be an accent color.
There are other threads here and other forums that suggest that the color code preceding the color name is the main body color. Other tidbits suggest that the color code of SS indicates a special order (often fleet) customization. There are seemingly endless peculiarities in how each branch, individual etc stamped these plates. I've seen no official Ford documentation that gets deep into these particular decoding nuances.
Is there a way to breakdown the Production Code?
This is on the '56 I'm building for my brother-in-law.

Probably going to get a new tag made by Marti Autoworks. Of course, the VIN will stay the same, but I can change some things to match current specs. Like Color (PQ/Ford Race Red), axle, and Cert. Net H.P. (which is a bit more now).
A new fresh tag will look way better on the door jam than just repainting the original.

The production code includes the scheduled assembly date, 7J, 7 September. Consecutive unit numbers began with 10001, so with your number being much higher than that at 45013, your truck would have been built toward the end of the model year, in 1956. IIRC, 1956 truck production ran a little longer than normal as there was a delay in the new body style changeover for '57. The rest of the production code would include your rotation number, an internal plant code to keep track of the vehicle in the rotation of assembly, and since the number is extra long, presumably includes an invoice or order number which would have outlined any special order items, like special paint color, etc. Since those records have long been lost, unless you happened to have received a copy of the original paperwork with the truck, there's no further information available there.

Thank You.
The truck was in parts and pretty bare when he bought it. So, no chance of finding hidden information.
The body seemed to think, based on some of the factory holes for fender mounting etc., that the cab may have been from a heavier duty model like F250 or 350 or??
Seems like that could coincide with a special order paint to match a fleet color situation.
It's definitely a special order red now.
