TP Sensor Adjustment

Hi again folks. I have another question, about the Throttle Position Sensor. We found the one on my Grandson's 89 FSB with a 302 had a broken wire in the plug so we replaced the sensor. The Haynes manual says to adjust it with screws loose until voltage is 1.0 volt and then tighten screws. I am completely lost on how to adjust it
After reading for hours, I am of the opinion that the coolant sensor and the TP sensor can cause the PCM to flood the engine with too much fuel, which is what is happening. The engine did start today and run for about 30 seconds before flooding out. I have not checked the fuel pressure with a gauge, but there was a strong smell of gasoline.

If the TPS mounting holes are slotted, you have to rotate it slightly to get 1V. If they're round, it's not adjustable & doesn't need to be.

Pull the red vacuum line off the Fuel Pressure Regualtor (FPR) and see if there's liquid gasoline inside it. If there is, replace the FPR - the bottom screw is a PAIN to get to, but it's a straightforward procedure.

Steve83 - thanks for the reply. It is not slotted, so no adjustment. I will check the FPR tomorrow.
