How do you calibrate or program the BLIS blindspot radar/sensors? My tail lights were stripped from the back of my truck in a parking garage, and along with them, the blind spot radars. The quote from the dealership was outrageous and, having worked for a mechanic shop previously, I am confident this is something I can either do myself or find someone to do. I found aftermarket tail light assemblies (sans radar) that look identical to the OEM lamps for a fraction of the cost. I also found radars from salvage yards, like LKQ and the like, in my area, for much much cheaper than dealer prices.
So my question is... If I get radars from lights at a pick and pull or other salvage yard, how can I program or calibrate those for my truck? What kind of equipment or software is required? Have any of you done this before?
They should be plug and play. Aftermarket LED tail lights from a company like Mishimoto are far less expensive, just as good, and less likely to get stolen.
On a side note, I peeled the BLIS decals off of mine to help deter any thefts That decal makes the LED lights easy to identify for thieves.
Thank you so much for that link! You are a life saver!
do you possibly have a link for the radars too? I’ll still need to replace them both, since they were in the stolen lights. 😣 These that you linked me to have the brackets for the radars, but specify that they will need to be swapped from the original lights, as they are not included.
