Torque Spec Q

Does anyone know the torque specs of the front end spring nut, located at the bottom of the spring?

Manual shows 30-70 ftlbs.

Any ideas on the wide range?
With the pressure on the spring I would expect more of an absolute value, feeling like it would be a safety thing.

Personally I would use a bit of blue loctite on the threads and torque it to 50. That should be plenty.

That nut doesn’t see any spring tension whatsoever. The nut and big washer are there to keep the spring from falling out if you didn’t have front shocks installed and decided to jump the truck. Give it a good healthy snug with a moderately sized wrench and call it a day.

@jflem Yeah that's what i'm thinking as well, just seemed odd the wide range
@46Whizzer Good to know, I knew it held it in but thought it might have a bit of tension with it as well
