You are talking about the same part
The canister is the crossover valve also called a dual fuel reservoir
Chevy, Ford and Dodge all had them
You should be able to get your truck to run on one tank until you find a new valve
Leave the crossover valve out of the mix and run rubber fuel injection hose and a few adapters made from old lines
Route around the crossover valve and into the line going to the frame pump
Don't be too surprised to find out both your new fuel pumps are no good if that's the case

Why does he need a new DFR? Where has it been established that is the cause for no fuel at the engine?
Yes, which is why I mentioned that the pumps could be wired backwards from the factory.
SUCCESS SUCCESS SUCCESS!!!
THANK YOU ALL!
007 Was right I did just as you said
I opened the canister the springs were rusted and it reeked of old gas

I would soak that Dual Function Reservoir in large amounts of WD40. There's a slim chance you can free it up. For a few dollars of WD40 and some time, it might be worth it. They're expensive.
He also said he had 30 psi at one point after replacing the pumps
Meaning they were not wired backwards
Since it was not stated, I was not certain that meant both tanks were reading 10# with the key on and 30# when trying to run or only one tank was getting a fuel pressure reading.

10 with key on, and 30 when trying to run. Has got clean fuel at the rail.
why won't it run?
My truck sat for 9-10 years. I found out that the DFR was stuck on the front tank. I discovered that when I ran out of gas on the highway since it would not allow fuel to flow from the rear tank. About 12 years ago I bought a reservoir from the junkyard and it has been fine since then.

That will work for now but you are stuck with only one gas tank until you replace the DFR.
