1970 F700 4x4
I am wondering If anyone has made a 2 wheel drive F700 a 4x4? Has anyone added in a front F250 axles ? I guess you would have to replace both axles? I have a 1978 np 205 ? divorce transfer case to install. I think they look cool.

Do you already own the F700? If so, what is the front axle code?
I would expect to find a 6,000 to 9,000 lb capacity front axle under an F700.
Front axles listed for smaller trucks, mostly Dana 60s, top out at 3,500 lbs capacity, as listed in the Master Parts Catalogs for '64-'72 & '73-'79.

As for factory 4x4, I only find the f600s and the F880 in '77 listed as 4x4 in the '73-'79 MPC, and F600s only in '64-'72.
So the axles and transfer case out of an F600 would probably work.
What are you trying to build? A medium duty 4x4 to do actual work with, or something else?

No nothing for work, just a fun truck to have as a short flatbed 4x4 for ****s and giggles. Not hauling anything. Maybe my fishing boat. I like the look of the truck, and have a line in a real nice 70, with a grain box on it. I would more or less cut the frame down and install newer front and rear ends off a F350/250. I have a 1974 divorce transfer case now as well. Maybe install a big old winch on the front too.
