1997 cruise control not working.

My abs light came on. I replaced the module and it still comes on randomly. Transmission shifts fine from first to second and second to third. But third to of the rpms are slot higher before it shifts and it doesn't seem like it shifts completely into od. My normal rpm at 65 is 2200, now it fluctuates between 2200 and 2400. All this stuff happened at the same time. So my cruise control doesn't work. I changed the transmission fluid and filter. The truck has 224,000 miles. I changed the rear differential oil 2 years ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your torque converter is unlocking, could be bad wiring, burned out brake light, or in my case water being trapped in the trailer wiring plug.

First thing is to see if your third brake light bulb is blown. Mine had similar issues that were corrected with a new bulb(can’t believe I was lucky enough to have such a simple fix).
