Emissions on tuning

I was just getting ready to crash when this article caught my eye on my feed... And since I recently brought him up in the delete tuners thread, and this guy knows his stuff, this is a PPEI Tuning by Korey Willis tuned stock 6.7 Powerstroke... Cool stuff.

I'd love to know how often the truck regens...

If I were to go with PPEI tuning, I'd likely opt for the +60HP tune, just mild enough to get a little more oomph, but not really taxing the engine too much (for longevity).

Sure wish I could go without the truck for a week (or however long it takes to ship the ECU to them and get it back).

Even so, it would be an expensive 60HP gain, for me. $575 basic tune, plus $156 for extra mods allowance and shipping = $731 (less tax, I reckon). That comes out to ~ $13 per HP gain.

Yeah I saw that in the article. I didn't see the video though... we know from the discussion here that the newer trucks, 20 plus 6.7s, use less EGR and more DEF with users stating how they use more DEF than their older trucks... so intake probably stays cleaner than the older trucks, and engines too... I'll have to look into this more when I get a chance.

Not habbening... I thought just over a grrr (grand) per month payment was **** ing crazy... there's no way I'm paying another 20k plus for that new truck smell... plus I have sooo many plans for this one.

If I post I bought a new truck, it means I became independently wealthy and still have my 16...

Was it just the early models that would spin bearings when tuned?

I also have to add that I have a sentimental attachment to my 16. Let me explain...

My Dad passed in April 2016. Later on in the year, I put the house I grew up in since 2nd grade, that I bought from my parents in 1998, up for sale. When I knew it was pretty much sold, I found my truck online. There was a King Ranch they had that I liked more but it was sold already.

The 17s were already out but I liked my gen truck better... Once I heard that my truck was still available, i told my wife I wanted to go take a look at it... She asked if we were going to look at it or buy it. I didn't say anything because I didn't know. We took a ride there, took it for a ride and I fell in love with the truck.

My Dad drove truck for a living and I went with him as a young kid... Learned how to respect the big trucks at a young age and how long of a distance it takes for a loaded out 18 wheeler to come to a stop..

Bought the truck and lo and behold, the plate number was my Dad's high schomyol graduation year reversed, with two zeros in front of birthday day date followed by his first name initial followed by the letter "J" as he was a Junior...

After my truck was bought, before the first 1000 dollar plus payment was due, the house sold, then I sent in two payments plus an extra $30k, went to my credit union and took out a loan to pay off the rest of the Ford Credit loan and cut my payment in half...

While I do like the Alumina Dutys and the new design of the 23s are growing on me, my truck will become my hobby once I hang up my gun belt. I know exactly what I want to do and buy for my truck, but have neither the money nor the time to do it... Soon, I'll start one part at a time...

Like I said, if I post that I have a new to me or a brand new one, know I came into some money and still have my 16 that I'm sad that my Dad was never able to take a ride in after I jacked his a$$ up into it...
